AfterShokz TREKZ Titanium Review – The Perfect Pair for Fitness

The AfterShokz TREKZ Titanium addresses the traditional headphone’s lack of situational awareness as these sit on your cheek bones located in front of years. It will also deliver sound performance through your bones rather than your ear canal, which means that your ears are practically safe from damage from loud listening volumes. As compared to earbuds, these bone-conducting headphones do not block out noises from the outside world. However, since this pair from AfterShokz is directed towards fitness enthusiasts, blocking out sound is not an avid option to be placed into it at all. Therefore, you would be able to easily hear your favorite tracks while still being able to place a good ear out for oncoming traffic.

AfterShokz TREKZ Titanium Review - The Perfect Pair for Fitness

The AfterShokz TREKZ Titanium are Bone-Conducting Headphones for Fitness-Centric Individuals

The AfterShokz TREKZ Titanium has three buttons: the Power, the volume up, and the volume down. These are located on the underside of the unit just behind the right ear, and they are nestled along with the micro-USB charging port. There is also the larger and easier-to-reach multi-function button that is located on the outside of the left transducer.

When you hold the power button for five seconds, it will then let the TREKZ Titanium to enter pairing mode and it is compatible with devices that have the Bluetooth 4.1 technology. Sadly, for gaming enthusiasts, especially those who own a PlayStation 4, the headphones do not connect with Sony’s videogame console.

It is also worth noting that the fit of the headphone might be an issue for some. This headphone will sit over the ear and will wrap around the back of your neck. Therefore, those who are avid cyclists, or those that have to wear glasses all the time, might find it to their discomfort when wearing the headphone. The literature does suggest that putting on the headphone first prior to everything else will do the trick; sadly, the pictures found on the manual and the reality of the situation do not align.

Despite being the non-traditional choice for fitness-centric individuals to listen to their favorite tracks while they’re working out, the AfterShokz TREKZ Titanium has a clear sound quality. Furthermore, the audio profile was rich enough to the point that it is bordering on being bass-heavy. It does add a basic equalizer to the mix, which is a nice touch to tone down some tracks. Overall, if you’re into fitness and want good wireless headphones, then you might want to check out this pair from AfterShokz.
