KunosSimulazioni teased the Porsche pack for many months prior to release in October and as volume one came out on Assetto Corsa, it was highly praised for welcoming the car manufacturer back into the racing simulation world. They say time flies when you’re having fun and before you know it, a month has zoomed by and now it’s time for Volume 2 of the Porsche Pack and with this pack, it focuses on iconic vehicles as well as continuing the line of Porsche’s latest 2016 line-up of vehicles.
AssettoC orsa is Planning to Bring Back the Porsche Into the Racing Sim
During its release in October, Kunos has already pulled the wraps from the three-volume DLC and has fleshed out in detail each vehicle included for each DLC, Assetto Corsa’s car library is set to grow an additional 27 cars with the Porsche Pack alone. For each pack there’s a theme and for Volume 2 it’s going to be racing icons; the DLC includes another 9 cars to add to the existing 9 cars that were obtained from the Volume 1 DLC bringing the current total of Porsche DLC vehicles in-game to 18. This pack gives attention to most iconic cars created by Porsche most of which earned the marquee several top spots in real life historical racing events such as the recent 2015 Le Mans winner the 919 Hybrid.
Aside from historical cars, Kunos continues adding Porsche’s latest 2016 line-up of vehicles such as the latest 718 Boxster series of sports cars. The 9 cars for the Assetto Corsa Porsche Pack Volume 2 DLC are as follows: The 911 GT3 RS, 718 Spyder RS, Cayman GT4, 718 Boxster S with a manual, another 718 Boxster S but with a PDK transmission (the game tends to strictly follow how a car’s transmission setup is configured hence the need for two identical cars), the Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid 2015, the 911 GT1, as well as both variants of the Porsche 962c which includes the short tail and long tail configuration of the race car.
With the second installation of the Porsche Pack for Assetto Corsa now live, car lovers and racing sim have more iconic sports cars for them to get their hands on. Those who have purchased the Porsche season pass will have already pre-purchased the volume 2 DLC and in turn will be saving a few extra for buying three for one.
