It has been a while since gamers were anxiously waiting for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and just very recently, their prayers have been answered. The aforementioned title is now out on all platforms, but the release is not one that you can call “smooth.” For PC players, it has been reported by many that they are running into several problems, and many of those who have pre-ordered the game are finding that they have been misled.
PC Players of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Unhappy With the Game’s Release
When you head on to Steam and check out Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the reviews are a mixed bag of sorts. There are many of the hundreds of negative reviews within that are stating about the game’s micro-transactions, whereas there are some who state that complain about various technical issues. It is not just with Steam that players are reporting their discontent, as you can also find the thoughts of players being screamed aloud within Steam forums, the game’s subreddit, and most especially within various social media portals. The issues contain low frame rates, as well as mouse acceleration; both of which could not be disabled. There are also reports about crashes, along with other issues.
At the time of writing, the issues pertaining to mouse acceleration and crashes are now listed under “under investigation,” in a developer post. There are even some players that report that the mouse axis will act in the opposite direction of wha they should be. Developer Eidos Montreal released an advice to “ignore what they are seeing in the menu and use what they are noticing in-game.” It has also been said that there will be an oncoming fix for this problem.
However, there are workarounds that have been found to resolve some performance issues in the new Deus Ex game, such updating drivers. There are also some game-specific workaround such as turning off MSAA, keeping volumetric lighting to on or off, using 1080p resolution, turning off contact hardening shadows, or enabling exclusive fullscreen mode.
Perhaps the most frustrating concern for some pertaining to Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is that the specifics of the game’s pre-order, or the Day One Edition DLC, will give you a bunch of in-game items such as weapons, skins, and upgrades. But what’s misleading is that many players have found out that these items are one-use-only. Which means that once you’ve used them and do away with them, you won’t be able to find them in your inventory any longer.
