Gigabyte P57X Review – Black and Orange is a Great Thing

When it comes to gaming laptops, size does matter, and that notion is very much apparent with the Gigabyte P57X. It is one of the brand’s more sizable Pascal-based offerings. However, even though it is quite large at first glance, it is not too bulky or heavy. Furthermore, unlike other gaming laptops on the market that have dreams of grandeur of becoming a full-blown desktop computer because of their unwieldiness, you won’t mind sitting this particular notebook on your lap, even for extended periods of time.

The Gigabyte P57X is a Large Gaming Laptop, Without Too Much Weight or Bulk

The Gigabyte P57X is a 17.3-inch laptop, and with the size of the screen, you can even get away with using it as a secondary monitor for when you’re playing games or watching movies. Well, for as long as you won’t be bothered by the lack of real-estate on the desktop. Yes, even though it has a rather sizeable architecture, this now sixth iteration of the P57X has a screen resolution of 1080p, which is nicely in the middle areas.

Nevertheless, it can be equipped with either the Nvidia GTX 1060 or 1070 if you want to boost its graphics capabilities even further. Even though Gigabyte can install a GTX 1080 inside the machine, there’s already more than enough graphics power within the Gigabyte P57X v6 to consider, especially since the display is set to 1080p.

When it comes to its design, this particular gaming laptop is instantly recognizable from afar, especially if you’re a fan of Gigabyte’s offerings. This is because the firm’s offerings tend to be more down to Earth when it comes to looks, especially when you compare their devices from its subsidiary company, Aorus.

It has a two-tone black-and-orange color scheme going around, and it is eye-catching yet understated at the same time. There is a refreshingly absent sense of an ostentatious design flourishes, like Mayan patterns or anything of that sort. If you are in search for a gaming laptop without the extra niceties in the design and would want simplicity to be its best property in terms of design, then you might want to check this one out.

So is the Gigabyte P57X a must-buy? There are many things to like about this gaming laptop, especially when it comes to its size, bulk, and weight. Furthermore, you can’t go wrong with regards to its performance chops. If you don’t mind the plasticky build quality nor the simple design, then this might be the gaming notebook that you’re gunning for.
