HP Pavilion 15-au072sa Review – A Cheaper Option With Basic Performance

There are now many laptops that are located within a budget-friendly price category, and to add to that product class is the HP Pavilion 15-au072sa. What you will get with this laptop is a 15.6-inch display that is able to deliver a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution. There is also a DVD drive (if you still have to use it), a 1TB hard drive, and a claimed 9-hours of battery life. With these features and its performance, it is a solid choice for doing schoolwork, or for when you want a decent performing work laptop without all the bells-and-whistles.

The Shortcomings on the HP Pavilion 15-au072sa are Clear Right at the Onset

Since the HP Pavilion 15-au072sa is a relatively cheap laptop (well, cheaper than most), then you won’t get anything too clever in terms of its looks and build quality. For starters, the machine is not too thin, nor is it light enough as it is not made from premium materials. Nevertheless, you will get a decent-looking pearl-white finish for its casing, and there is also a striped pattern found on the inside that does look rather beautiful. These design features are nicely contrasted with the chromed hinges and the black screen bezel.

However, since the 15-au072sa is mostly covered in white, then it will show dirt more than ever as compared to other laptops that are finished with a darker color. It will even show the oil and grease from your fingers when you touch the laptop. So before you touch the device right after you finished eating that burger, perhaps it is a good idea to wash your hands with soap and water first.

As mentioned earlier, the build quality is pretty decent, and you will get a nice array of connectivity options on the device. There are three USB ports (two of those are USB 3.0), a full-sized HDMI port, an SD card reader, an Ethernet network port, and a combination of headphone/microphone socket.

In terms of screen performance, this laptop is, once again, displays that element with utmost modesty. The resolution of 1,366 x 768 might not be the best in its class, and it is even quite low for today’s standards, but it does make for an easier-to-read way, which is good for those having trouble reading small text found in higher-resolution screens.

The HP Pavilion 15-au072sa is powered by an Intel Core i5-6100U CPU, and it is pretty decent for doing day-to-day computing tasks. You will be able to load a bunch of tabs in your browser, have Spotify running on the background, and some more and it will hardly lag. A solid choice for those looking for a more budget-friendly option, but it could do better with its screen.
