iPhone – Steve Wozniak Says Removing Headphone Jack Will Displease Many

It has been one of the main topics as of late that iPhone manufacturer Apple is about to kill off the headphone jack with their latest smartphones that are expected to be released next month. However, not everybody over at the tech giant thinks that this is a grand idea, as what Apple’s own Steve Wozniak explains. After all, he shares the same sentiments as many that they are not about to purchase a new pair of headphones just for the new handset.

Steve Wozniak States That Killing off the Headphone Jack on the iPhone is a Bad Idea

Steve Wozniak, the Apple co-founder, told the Australian Financial Review recently about his thoughts on the company killing off the headphone jack with the upcoming iPhone models. Personally, he is still attached to his existing earphones, and he is not about to let go of them anytime soon just for the new smartphone models. “Mine have custom ear implants, they fit in so comfortably, I can sleep on them and everything,” the Apple co-founder stated in an interview with the publishing. “And they only come out with one kind of jack, so I’ll have to go through the adapter.”

Even though there are lots of talk about the killing of the headphone jack for the upcoming iPhone 7, Apple has not provided any official word as to whether there will be an adapter, or an alternate pair of earphones that come with a Lightning cable, will be supplied with the new smartphone. There are already many reports that the new handset will be launched without a headphone jack, of which comes to the dismay for many who are fans of Apple’s smartphones but do not want to purchase a new pair of headphones just for it.

Should it end up happening, wireless headphones are an option, but once again, not everybody has the means to get a hold of a pair in a snap. However, this is not to Apple’s own Steve Wozniak’s liking as he said the following in the interview: “If there’s a Bluetooth 2 that has higher bandwidth and better quality, that sounds like real music, I would use it. But we’ll see.”

“If it’s missing the 3.5mm earphone jack, that’s going to tick off a lot of people,” Wozniak said about the upcoming iPhone. To recall, the company’s 2015 and 2-16 MacBooks only had one USB-C port and one headphone jack, and it is also rumored that the next MacBook Pro will sport four USB-C ports.
