Jam Heavy Metal HX-P920 Review – Unbeatable in Almost Every Aspect

The Jam Heavy Metal HX-P920 enters the wireless Bluetooth speaker sector, which is already a very crowded place to be. However, what immediately sets this apart from the rest is, well, just about everything about it. The sound and build quality are both top-notch, and what’s more is that all of its glory is placed in a low price point.

The Jam Heavy Metal HX-P920 enters the wireless Bluetooth speaker sector, which is already a very crowded place to be. However, what immediately sets this apart from the rest is, well, just about everything about it. The sound and build quality are both top-notch, and what's more is that all of its glory is placed in a low price point. With the Jam Heavy Metal HX-P920, You Get Good Sound, Good Build Quality, and it Won't Break Banks The Jam Heavy Metal HX-P920 is about as small as the tons of other Bluetooth speakers on the market. It is portable enough but it's not a device that you can put in your pocket. However, it can easily fit inside cabin baggage or inside your backpack when you want to accompany it around with you on your travels. At its low price point, you would expect something of a cheaply made device as you might immediately expect that it is made out of cheap plastic. If this is what you're thinking about, then you're wrong; the Jam HX-P920, just like the Heavy Metal in its moniker, is encased in aluminum. It has a one-piece curved frame, front and rear grilles, and the button controls are located at its top. All of these are metallic as well. Of course, since it is made out of all that metal, the speaker weighs quite the hefty 600-grams. In order to keep the price down as low as possible, the company has opted aptX and NFC features out. Nevertheless, you would still be able to get high quality Bluetooth streaming. The second that you hook up your phone into it, you can immediately throw it some tunes. While NFC would make it a much better device, it is not a total loss, especially for the money that you would have to pay for it. The only other extra feature that this speaker has is a microphone, which of course would allow you to take calls. However, it is advised not to use it as a conference call speaker as apart from everything else about the device, that aspect is of low quality. Voice clarity is quite poor, and you might even find yourself just reaching for your phone instead of talking through this speaker. Finally, there's the sound quality, wherein the Jam Heavy Metal HX-P920 is still able to score high marks despite its low price point. For a small Bluetooth speaker, it has the best driver setup that money can buy. It has two small active drivers, as well as a pair of matched passive radiators. The audio output is that you can get a surprisingly decent level of bass, an above average volume, and next-level sound performance.
