LG G Pad X 8.0 Review – A Low-End Tablet With a Catch

If you’re looking for a tablet that won’t hurt your wallet, then perhaps you might want to take a look at the LG G Pad X 8.0. Its price point comes along beside the similarly priced Amazon Fire. So what’s the catch with this low-priced gadget? While it does offer 4G LTE connection for its users, you still have to pay extra as monthly installments when you purchase it from AT&T. Therefore, the attached price tag is just the beginning of your worries.

The LG G Pad X 8.0 Has a Price Tag That’s Only Half the Story

But why should you still take a look at the LG G Pad X 8.0 even though the original price is not what it would seem? First of all, it has a full USB port that you can take advantage of to connect a flash drive. It also has an IR blaster in which you can use the device as a remote control. You also have full access to the Google Play store, which is so much better than Amazon’s curated app store. Furthermore, its design is even better than that of the Amazon FIre.

However, and perhaps the most important feature that comes with the G Pad X 8.0 is that it has cellular service. In other words, you can have Internet on the go without having to worry about the range of your Wi-Fi router in your home. But as mentioned earlier, if you do get this tablet from AT&T, then you will have to pay extra for the monthly subscription plan. If you don’t want to pay more than what you would originally had in mind, then perhaps getting a Wi-Fi only tablet is more of your cup of tea.

But when you do get this for the original price, then the tablet’s features disappoint. Get it with the low-cost along with the subscription plan then it is worth checking into. It is a decent performer for casual users, and you can use it for reading, watching your favorite shows, and playing some games. Speaking of playing games, you might not want to play some graphic intensive games on this one as there will be a definite lag when you do.

Overall, the LG G Pad X 8.0 is a great option for those who do not want to spend a lot of cash to get a tablet. However, this is just the beginning because if you do purchase this tablet, especially from AT&T, then be prepared to pay more than what you’ve bargained for.
