Netgear Arlo Q Review – The Ideal Solution for Indoor Home Security

There are many home-security cameras that have already been around for years, but there are those that are easy to install and to manage; but then again, there’s the Netgear Arlo Q. It aims to make protecting your home a lot easier to do. It is able to shoot up to 1080p videos with its wide-angle lens. Furthermore, it has infrared LEDs for night vision protection. It also has built-in Wi-Fi which allows for easy connection to your home network, and it can detect motion and audio, so you don’t have to worry about manually starting or stopping the recording as it will do it automatically.

The Netgear Arlo Q Presents the Right Features for Home Security

Additionally, the Netgear Arlo Q integrates with a cloud service at no cost. This allows users to access the camera, as well as its recorded videos, from practically anywhere around the world for as long as you’re connected to the Internet. There’s also an accompanying app as well, which makes things even easier.

This particular home security camera is just of the three models within the Netgear Arlo range. This one is for indoor use for either home or work, while the other two models are the Wire-Free and Q Plus. The Wire-Free is for outdoor use whereas the Q Plus is for businesses.

For the Arlo Q, it is an impressively diminutive device as it has dimensions of only 70 x 73 x 115-milimeters. Therefore, you can practically hide it in just about anywhere. Hide it between books and no one (well, except you) would be the wiser. But do not let its small architecture fool you as it is made of quality hardware, and yet retains a nice soft-touch white finish throughout its compact structure.

What good is a security camera if it cannot offer you great quality footage. Thankfully, that is not the case with the Arlo Q. As a matter of fact, the 1080p images that it can record are great in quality that it is practically impressive.

Looking at the images that it takes, they are a bit distorted, but that’s just because of the wide angle lens on the camera. Furthermore, since it uses a wide field of vision, you can see more of whatever it is that the camera is seeing. The only issue, perhaps, for the images is that there will be reflection of the camera if you place it behind a window and you’re taking a look at outdoors from the inside.

Overall, the Netgear Arlo Q is a one-stop solution when it comes indoor home security. It is very easy to setup, manage, and leave alone. Furthermore, the fact that you can access the footage wherever you are as long as you have Internet connection is part of its feature offerings mean that it is a particularly handy little camera.
