Oppo R9 Plus Review – Big on Just About Everything, Except the Price

When the Apple released the iPhone to the world, there are many who have been on the tech giant’s tales in trying to create a similar design with their own handsets, and this is probably the case with the Oppo R9 Plus. This is because Apple created a formula for its design that does look really good, and with that regard, Oppo’s smartphone looks almost as great. But this is no iPhone, but what you can get is big on power and in screen-size. Furthermore, the battery life is reasonably pleasant, which is a department that the iPhone has been to be struggling over the years.

The Oppo R9 Plus is Big on Power, Screen Size, and Battery

One look at the Oppo R9 Plus and you would immediately take a gander at its towering height for a smartphone. It has a 6-inch screen, which is larger than the 5.5-inch display of the Oppo R9. This larger screen, however, still has the same 1,920 x 1,080 resolution of the original and smaller model. Hence, there will be a slight reduction when it comes to the sharpness of the images being displayed. Still, it’s not too much to be a bother; in fact, you might not even notice the difference at all.

For the rear camera, its imaging sensor has been upped from 13-megapixels to 16-megapixels. But once again, that’s not much of a difference, especially when we’re talking about smartphone cameras here. For the front camera, it is still the same with that of the Oppo R9.

What is indeed better with the Oppo R9 Plus smartphone is that it is big on both battery and processing power over the original R9 handset. With the Plus, you will be able to take advantage of a Snapdragon 652 CPU. This is a 1.8GHz octa-core chip, and it is big on both general performance as well as in graphics processing power over the basic model. In fact, when you take a look at the results for the benchmark tests, the phone is up there along with the Huawei Mate 8 and the Sony Xperia X.

Another large bonus for the Oppo R9 Plus is the battery as it now carries a 4,120mAh pack. For phones that have larger counterparts, there are some from other manufacturers that do not have much of a performance boost in terms of battery life. However, your expectations will be far exceeded with Oppo’s model as it can grant you as much as 17-hours and 30-minutes of battery life on a single, full charge.
