Ever since Pokémon Red and Blue came into the gaming scene, it already had a set of legendary Pokémon wherein trainers would try and catch (them being Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos); and now that Pokémon Sun and Moon is fast approaching, we will now get a chance to try and capture one new legendary Pokémon to add to the mix – Zygarde.
Pokémon Sun and Moon Adds Zygarde as Part of the List of Legendary Pokémon
In Pokémon Sun and Moon, trainers can try to battle and catch Zygarde, which is rather a complex creature. The new legendary Pokémon was recently featured in a teaser trailer for the two games that was published on the official YouTube channel of Pokémon. The new Pokémon is listed as a legendary creature which is found on the official Japanese Pokédex. However, and quite questionably, it is not listed as a legendary Pokémon in the US Pokédex. At the time of writing, there is no official statement as to why this is so, but one reason could be that there is a delay in the update of the US website of the game.
However, this could also mean that United States versions of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon would be quite different from their Japanese counterparts. One clear sign is how the legendary Pokémon is listed as an “Order Pokémon” found on the US website.
Nonetheless, Zygarde is a composite Pokémon that can have different forms. When it is in its completed form, it will stand tall as the traditional Dragon/Ground-type Pokémon. But aside from the normal type, true to its legendary moniker, it will have unparalleled skills. In fact, it has a special move that it can only use called Core Enforcer, which is quite the ability since it can erase the Abilities of any opponent that it faces with in battle. Due to its immense power, it is just right that Game Freak described the new Pokémon as the protector of the entire Pokémon ecosystem.
So the question now is, “Will Zygarde be present in both Pokémon Sun and Moon?” The answer to that is most probably; well, after all, it would not make complete sense if the latest teaser trailer would include a slight hint of a mini mission towards the collection of Zygarde’s Cells and Cores. Furthermore, it is not clear that the new Pokémon will be a “one game exclusive,” like what many players would suffer if they’ve purchased Pokémon Sapphire before and can only get one of the two legendary Pokémon showcased.
