Razer Naga Hex V2 Review – For the MOBA Gamer

MOBAs, or multiplayer online battle arenas, are now a major part of the eSports community, and the likes of DOTA 2 and League of Legends are now mainstays within the scene. Like its name, this is the second iteration to the original Naga Hex mouse, in which that was built unlike many other gaming mice had to offer with its six buttons found in a hexagonal buttons which makes it clearly made for MOBA players. With this V2 unit, it is a model that sits somewhere between the original Naga Hex and another of the brand’s gaming peripheral, the Razer Naga, in which focuses more on MMOs.

Razer Naga Hex V2 Review - For the MOBA Gamer

The Razer Naga Hex V2 is Clearly Built for the MOBA Player

The Razer Naga Hex V2 has a, well, more mundane look as compared to the original version of the gaming mouse. For comparison’s sake, the original Naga Hex had a unique body in which greatly resembled a sine curve suspended halfway through a function. While the body is still quite similar to the original model, this Version 2 still promotes a great level of comfort. The mouse is large enough that it can mostly accommodate the thumb buttons, of which are 7 in total, and these are all arranged in a heptagonal design.

For those who do take notice, the Naga Hex V2 isn’t actually correct since there are now 7 buttons instead of 6. Hence, the Hex on the original model pertained to the 6 buttons found on the side. However, calling the mouse Naga Hept isn’t actually a great idea so you would might as well late this kind of naming sense slide.

Even though the design might be fairly new for some, go about a few games of DOTA 2 or League of Legends and you would immediately know where every button was. As a matter of fact, the 7 extra buttons on the side are all within easy and comfortable reach that you would not find it difficult to reach them, even when those very intense team clashes take place within games.

So in short, the Razer Naga Hex V2 is able to deliver the performance level of which many gamers would desire in a gaming mouse. But perhaps the biggest criticism that you can make with the mouse that it is made for a specific niche. Hence, even though you might be a veteran gamer that likes different genres of videogames, this particular computer peripheral is, in fact, made for MOBA players.
