Sony Walkman NW-WS413 Review – Tunes on Land and Water

What immediately separates the Sony Walkman NW-WS413 from the rest of the wireless Bluetooth headphones on the market is that it’s not a pair of Bluetooth headphones. It is a 4GB MP3 player that doesn’t rely on your smartphone, or any connected device for that matter, for you to enjoy your favorite tracks. It is also encased in a waterproof and dustproof finish that is IP67/68-rated. Aside from letting your smartphone be free from the extra load on its battery life, the great thing about this MP3 player is that of its battery life. It has a better battery life as compared to its rivals, and its predecessors. Furthermore, it even offers fast-charging capabilities.

The Sony Walkman NW-WS413 Lets You Enjoy Your Favorite Tracks on Land or in Water

If you state that the Sony Walkman NW-WS413 is a pair of headphones-slash-MP3 player are comfortable and a good fit would be an absolute understatement. Even though they do look bulkier than its predecessors, especially when comparing it your traditional pair of in-ear headphones, these are lighter and more well-fitted, even when you’re out and about doing your routinely jogs around town, or even when you’re swimming at the local pool. It will sit perfectly in place throughout the entire session.

It should be noted that the type of waterproofing used on the NW-WS413 is also a factor. The Japanese tech giant has upgraded this generation to not only be waterproof, but it is now also resilient to salt water as well. You can head to the beach and it will stay resilient in salt water for up to 2-meters for 30-minutes. It is also sand and dustproof. This means that the headphone has the capability of staying in your ears practically wherever you go.

While there are many good things to say about the MP3 player, especially when you consider that it is by far the clearest sounding performer when under water, the audio performance does not remain consistent. When you’re swimming, for example, you will find that there were bursts of interference whenever you would slosh about.

But what about playing tracks with the Sony Walkman NW-WS413 on land? The bass levels are pretty decent, and it is also quite good under water as well. As mentioned earlier, one of the main highlights of this device is that of its battery life and it can give you 12-hours of non-stop music listening. Furthermore, its Quick Charge function will give you an hour of use for just three minutes of charging. If you’re looking for a dedicated music player that you can bring to the pool, or even to the beach, then this is the unit that you’re looking for.
