Zvox Accuvoice AV200 TV Speaker Review – Boost the Voice

The Zvox Accuvoice AV200 TV Speaker might look like your typical soundbar, but this particular model tries to separate itself from the crowd by targeting individuals who may have hearing impairments. The result of the audio being brought out is a less well-rounded performance as compared to its competitors, especially when you use it for listening to tracks. What it does, and does well, is boosting the human voice.

The Zvox Accuvoice AV200 TV Speaker Presents a Less Defined Sound, But With a Reason

The Zvox Accuvoice AV200 TV Speaker is 17-inches in width, and it looks almost identical to the TV with the Accuvoice TV itself. It has an understated, yet quite attractive brushed aluminum chasses. It also offers a black steel grille found at the front. There is also a large orange LED display which can easily be read from afar, and it is accompanied by rubberized controls found at its right side, along with a bass port.

As for the remote control that comes with the Accuvoice AV200 TV Speaker, if you’re familiar with other Zvox speakers, then there’s nothing new to say here. Simply put, the remote is the same as the one included with other speakers of the brand. It is of a similar size of a credit card, and it is not the most ergonomic design you can see and feel. For the most part, it will only be used for the initial setup and nothing else. You can then use the remote for the TV instead to control the volume, so the remote control for the speaker itself only has little weight to the overall package, both literally and figuratively speaking.

As mentioned earlier, this particular speaker has an audio performance that is less than satisfactory, but it does with a reason. It uses the same “hearing aid technology” found in other, larger speakers by the brand, and it will “mimic the function of a hearing aid by isolating voice frequencies and lifting them out of background noises.”

With all of these being said, it is clear that the Zvox Accuvoice AV200 TV Speaker will only appeal to a very specific niche, and that category of the market are individuals who have trouble with regards to hearing. Apart from that, it doesn’t do well in other departments, especially when you’re trying to listen to your favorite tracks. For your musical pleasures, it is best to look towards other soundbars or speakers instead.
