Porsche is a brand that has gained an exclusive status to the point that they don’t easily give license to their vehicles for use in videogames hence the absence of the brand in popular racing game titles with a few exceptions such as EA but on the hardcore simulation scene, it’s the first time Porsche decided to partner with Kunos Simulazioni, an indie game developer and creator of the racing simulation game Assetto Corsa. The game has been known for its amazing physics engine recreating the feel of a real car through force feedback steering wheels as well as compatibility with more advanced gear such as a full racing cockpit with gauges, hydraulic-actuated seats, an impressive tire and aerodynamic model as well as being open to mods from the community not to mention the community being active with feedback.
Let the Porsche Spread its Wings With Assetto Corsa
The Porsche Pack DLC of Assetto Corsa is separated in three volumes with about a monthly gap in between but there’s also a pre purchase for the Porsche season pass to get the first volume as well as pre-purchasing the other two for around 28% less when buying all three packs separately; and with 7 cars per DLC, it’s a pretty sweet deal. After more than 12 years away from the hardcore racing simulation scene, Porsche makes a return to celebrate the glorious years and the future of the brand with a total of 21 cars both classic and modern with each and every car meticulously created with fine details as well as accurate handling recreation to give it the respect it deserves.
Leading the way for the three-volume DLC series of Assetto Corsa is volume one which includes the first 7 cars which is themed around the most iconic Porsches ever made as well as throwing in most recent models of the 2016 line-up to keep things fresh and attractive to less hardcore players. AC’s Porsche DLC is also part of the patch 1.9 update bringing with it a taste of what the DLC will offer, the latest patch’s free car; the Porsche Panamera Turbo. The DLC’s seven cars include the 911 Carrera S, 918 Spyder, 911 Carrera RSR 3.0, 718 Cayman S, 917/30 Spyder, 935/78 ‘Moby Dick’ and the Cayman GT4 Clubsport.
Assetto Corsa has a great holiday season with gifts coming in early in the form of 21 cars come December. With the taste of Volume 1 already available, look forward to more awesome Porsche vehicles as well as 1 free car for each of the subsequent patches recreated with painstaking attention to detail and excellent physics.
