When you look at a computer peripheral such as a mouse, there are some designs that would immediately let you think that it is undeniably for gaming, and a prime example is that of the Asus ROG Spatha. This is the company’s flagship gaming mouse, and as mentioned earlier, its design and button architecture makes it undeniably built for gaming. It can even be used for wired or wireless play. So would this be the mouse for all your PC gaming needs? Not quite; that’s because the design feels clumsy and the buttons feel stiff, which can make it difficult to press when those intense moments occur within your favorite titles.
You Might Want to Think About Purchasing the Asus ROG Spatha First
First of all, the Asus ROG Spatha is unlike many other computer gaming mice out there primarily because it is enormous. For those who have little desk real-estate, you might want to reconsider getting this until you transfer your gaming rig to a larger desk. Unsurprisingly, because of the largeness of the peripheral, it is also heavy. Therefore, using it is rather awkward.
Despite it having a rather smooth, magnesium base, it feels very much like a chore to move around, and it does not promote the most comfortable of experiences even when using it on the smoothest of surfaces. When you think about many capable gaming mice on the market that manages to keep the size and weight down, there is no reason why Asus would have to built such a monster of a mouse.
But on the brighter side of things, the Spatha has a very grippy surface, which makes it easy to hold. Its angular body also has plenty of nooks to go around, which means you can squeeze your digits on it without having too much trouble. As for those sharp edges, they do add to the appeal to it being a gaming mouse.
Even though the Asus ROG Spatha has quite a bit of issues with regards to its design, performance is still great; that is, if you can move it around relatively well because of its size and weight. This particular gaming peripheral is built to work on wireless mode all the time, but it can also perform well when directly connected to a computer with the use of its cord. Ultimately, your money is better off spent on other gaming mice that has a more compact and lightweight frame that can even do better.
