Craigslist - How to Sell Your Old Gadgets

Selling Your Old Gadgets on Craigslist

Step 1 – First of all, you might be asking yourself as to why you should be using Craigslist instead of other online options. This is because you will be able to meet the buyer of your product, and it will let them gain a sense of security knowing that they will be able to get the item that they’ve purchased, and not just some brick inside an iPhone box.

Step 2 – But before you post your item on Craigslist, don’t just put random bits of numbers as its price. Make sure that you find out what you’re item is worth first. Hence, make sure to do a bit of research first by studying if there are other sellers trying to sell off the same item. Make sure that your device is competitively priced, otherwise you’re looking at your gadget to still do a good job in becoming a paperweight inside your house.

Step 3 – Once you’ve arrived at a price, make sure to mark it up by just a teensy bit. This is because people, especially consumers, like to haggle with sellers. Therefore, by jacking up the price for just a bit, you will be able to make room for some negotiations with your buyer.

Step 4 – Take your time in providing as many information as you can about the item that you’re posting. Don’t be in such a hurry to sell off your item. Furthermore, if there are any found defects in your gadget, post them as well. One bad thing that many sellers do is that they lie about the condition of their item. Hence, when it reaches the hands of the purchaser, the deal might just go up in smoke (not to mention that you might even get a negative review out of it).

Step 5 – Lastly, when you’re about to meet the person who is willing to purchase your item that you’ve put up on sale on Craigslist, make sure that you meet up in a public place. You can never be too careful as to who might be buying your gadget, so it is better to be safe than sorry.
