If you’re on Facebook all the time, then you might have noticed some people commenting on some posts with one word – Following. This is so that they will be able to get notifications on the post while not having to directly interact with the people concerned. However, instead of revealing yourself for the world to see (in this social media portal anyway), you don’t have to comment “Following” or put in any kind of comment within a post for that matter just to get notifications from a particular post. There is an efficient way to do this, and it is built right into t the social media portal.
Get Notification Within a Post in Facebook Without Commenting on it
Step 1 – Perhaps the first, and possibly the most obvious step is to log into your Facebook account. When you see a post that you want to follow, you do have the option to just type in “Following” there so that you get notified every time someone replies or there’s any kind of progress in said post.
Step 2 – However, if you’re the type, like many, to not reveal yourself for the social media world to see, or if you just want to follow the post in private, then you can do so with a feature that is located right within the social networking portal. In the Facebook post that you want to follow, all you have to do is to head to the upper right corner of the post and you will see a drop down arrow. Click on it and you will be able to see the option right there that’s displayed as plain as day. It says “Turn on notifications for this post,” and you simply cannot miss it. Once you’ve turned it on, you will receive notifications every time someone posts a new comment on that particular post. Hence, you won’t miss out on all the juicy stuff everyone’s posting, and you’re just there, possibly eating popcorn while you’re reading.
Step 3 – But what if you want to stop receiving the notifications in Facebook for that particular post? If you’ve had enough of all the drama that’s been going on within that post, then all you have to do is to head on back to that post, then go back to the drop down arrow on the upper right corner, and this time select “Turn off notifications for this post.” Simple, right?
