Facebook – How to Review and Approve Posts Appearing on Your Timeline

There are times when people tag you with posts and pictures in Facebook and you don’t want your family to see those whenever they check out your timeline. If this is the case, then you don’t have to worry about your mom and dad seeing your drunken party face that took place last night; well, at least if you want them to that is. Nevertheless, you can review what goes into your timeline and what does not with a neat feature found within the social media portal.

Facebook - How to Review and Approve Posts Appearing on Your Timeline

You Can Review, Approve, or Even Hide Tagged Posts of You in Facebook

Step 1 – The Facebook feature that you’re looking for is called Timeline Review. To turn said functionality on is actually a straightforward affair, and you don’t need to waste a lot of time doing it as well. You can even toggle the setting on and off, and you can even do this from the mobile app. However, do take note that the method is slightly faster when you’re doing it within the desktop version of the social media portal.

Step 2 – In order to enable the Facebook Timeline Review, first of all you have to log into your account (which is pretty obvious). Once you are properly logged in, click on the small menu triangle found at the upper right of the website. This is located at the blue navigation bar right up top. Upon click it, head on to “Settings.”

Step 3 – Once in Settings, head to the sidebar menu found on the left and select “Timeline and Tagging.” In the new menu that pops up, look for the entry called “Review posts friends tag you in before they appear on your timeline?” option. By default, this setting is turned off, which means every picture or post that has you tagged in it will automatically appear in your timeline.

Step 4 – Click on Edit right beside that option and click on the drop down menu that primarily says “Disabled” and switch it to “Enabled.” The changes will take effect immediately, so you no longer have to do any kind of confirmation or look for a save button to press.

By doing this, every time someone tags you in a post in Facebook, a notification will pop up asking you to review the items first. Upon clicking the notification, you would then be brought to your own Activity Center wherein you would be able to review the items to be posted into your Timeline.
