There are some Google Chrome extensions that will immediately add a button upon their installation into the popular web browser. These can usually be located at the right side of the toolbar at the top. These buttons are added in the order in which they were downloaded and installed. For some, this order may not be to your liking. Furthermore, there are those who do not want these buttons to show up at all. Read on to find out how you can clean up your browser’s toolbar of these buttons.
Cleaning the Google Chrome Toolbar
Step 1 – If you want to rearrange the buttons from the extensions that you’ve installed into your Google Chrome browser, then do know that this is no difficult task to handle. In fact, it is actually quite easy. Just click on a button then drag it to a new location within the toolbar. That’s it.
Step 2 – But if you want to hide these extensions from the Google Chrome menu, it does take a few more steps rather than just clicking and dragging. In order to hide the extensions off of the toolbar, all you have to do is right-click on the button that you don’t want to see, then select the “Hide in Chrome menu” option from the drop-down menu that will appear. Once you do, the button will disappear, but do note that the extension will still be available for use as this process does not delete them.
Step 3 – There is another way of removing the icons from the Chrome menu, and this time around, it does involve clicking and dragging. Instead of clicking and moving the icon within the toolbar, remove the icon from the menu. Then, when you release your hold on the mouse button, the icon will disappear from the toolbar.
Step 4 – If you’re wondering how you can gain access to the icons that you’ve just removed in the Google Chrome toolbar, then it’s also quite easy to bring them back. Click on the Chrome menu, which are the three horizontal lines located at the top-right corner of the browser’s window, and you will immediately see the buttons that you have taken out of the toolbar. To bring them back, you can, once again, click and then drag them back into the toolbar. Or, you can also right click on the icons then select “Show in toolbar” in the pop-up menu that will show. Follow these steps and you will have a cleaner looking toolbar and menu in the Chrome browser in no time.
