Google Maps is perhaps one of the many mobile applications that you open daily, aside from the likes of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. However, it can be questioned as to how much of this particular app do you actually use? For many, it is primarily being used to navigate around places as you would just type in an address and let the application do its thing by helping you get there. But there are ways to get the most out this application.
Getting the Most Out of Google Maps
Aside from simply letting Google Maps help you navigate from point A to point B, there are times when you have to make a few stops along the way to reach point E. Hence, you would have to know where is point C and point D. For this purpose, Google has recently started rolling out a new features in the application that will allow you to plug in more destinations at one time. Users will be able to access this feature by going to the options menu found at the directions screen. Here, you can then opt to “Add stop.”
But of course, you do know that the Google Maps app is more than just a navigating tool. You can also use the “explore” function as well. This feature is pretty easy to find, but it is probably one of the most overlooked features within the entire application, especially those who are just focused on getting directions. This is particularly very useful when you’re travelling, or when you’re in a business trip, or when you’re searching for a new place in a new location and you want to know about the spots and hangouts. This is better for some as compared to just walking around aimlessly in hopes to find a decent spot to eat, drink, stay, or just have fun.
Lastly, you can also share directions from Google Maps to other people. This is great in order to let someone else know how they’re going to get to their destination. Once you already have the directions you need, all you have to do is to tap on the three-dot options menu, and then tap on “Share Directions.” It will allow you to send the directions through text or email, or you can opt to share this with the use of a link. You can even share these directions over social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, if you so desire.
