The Huawei MediaPad M3 8.0 is a pretty decent tablet to have as it is compact, slim, and it is even lightweight. There is even a 4G variant so that you can take advantage of taking and making calls with it, or even surf the Internet with the use of cellular data. As a matter of fact, it is even safe to say that this is perhaps the sleekest tablet to ever grace the MediaPad line.
The Huawei MediaPad M3 8.0 Presents an Okay Performance, But Contains a Major Flaw
Turning the Huawei MediaPad M3 8.0 and you will be graced with a display performance unlike many others. It brings about images that are more than what you could ask for in an 8-inch tablet. However, matching a high-resolution screen with just an adequate processor means that Huawei did cut corners in this department. Therefore, this particular tablet still can’t keep up with the demands of some of the more graphic intensive games out there.
When it comes to its build quality, this is one of the strongest points of the MediaPad M3 8.0. Even though it is quite slim, it has a low-flex aluminum casing which makes the device feel strong. In fact, you might even mistake it for a high-end device when holding it in your hand. It feels just like an iPad mini, in a sense, it’s just that the shape and overall design is quite different.
The tablet also bears a fingerprint scanner, which happily makes the device to be a part of 2016, rather than a gadget that’s released this year but feels like it should have been released 2 years ago. The scanner sits below the screen as part of a button, which is a similar design choice that the Samsung Galaxy S7 has. But it should be noted that it’s not a physical button, just a touch-capacitive one.
So what makes this tablet from Huawei hard to recommend? Even though it does have a stellar screen performance, it is matched with just a decent graphics processing unit and an okay processor. In other words, gaming performance is less than satisfactory, especially those titles that require a lot of 3D rendering.
Hence, if you’re the mobile gamer that wants to keep up with the demands of the latest technological advancements for mobile gaming, then it might be a good idea to turn your head (and your wallet) elsewhere rather than purchasing the Huawei MediaPad M3 8.0. But if you’re just the casual user that wants a more than decent performance when it comes to the device’s screen, especially when it comes to movies, then you might want to give this a consideration. But do take note that there are others that can still perform better, and are located within a similar price point.
