The “gates” have not exactly escaped the iPhone, and even though we now have the iPhone 7 found on the market, there is a brand new “gate” that is encircling it with much controversy. To recall, the iPhone 6s Plus popularized the “bendgate,” wherein the handset was deemed to be poorly made that bringing in just a teensy bit more muscle on the casing of the phone would cause the device to bend. Now with the 7th major iteration of the popular smartphone, we now get a brand new “gate,” and this time it is called “hiss-gate.”
iPhone 7 Users Report of a Weird Hissing Noise Coming Out of the Smartphone
The “hiss-gate,” as what many iPhone 7 users are now calling it, seems to be a more controversial piece of information as compared to the lack of the headphone jack or the new button-less home “button.” Speculations are now on the rise within the tech community, and many people claim that the buzzing noises come from the more powerful A10 chip that has been installed within the smartphone. This is because the sound seems to be localized to the logic board’s position. The sound even gets worse when the handset gets more load to work on.
While there are times when you wouldn’t hear it that much, or you might not even hear it at all unless you place the device right next to your ear, think about this – if you’re recording a video using the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, and the hissing sounds become more apparent because of the extra load the phone is trying to work on, then “hiss-gate” becomes more apparent when you watch your video clip. This might be a deal-breaker for people who want to take constant videos with the use of the new iPhone.
On the other hand, there are people who claim that almost all other iPhones, including previous iterations, exhibit the same kind of behavior. However, the sounds are more apparent in the latest iPhones to hit the market. There are already many parts of the smartphone community that have tested these hissing sounds in the new iPhone and it does exist.
Aside from “hiss-gate,” there are still many who complain about the lack of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7, or the fact that the home button won’t work while you’re wearing gloves are still apparent issues. Even though it has just been released quite recently, the new iPhones are shaping up to be the talk of the town, except not in a positive way.
