iPhone – How to Free Up Storage Space

If you’re a proud owner of an iPhone, then you are using it to its full potential by snapping photos with its great camera, going to the App Store and trying out a lot of apps, downloading music and listening to your favorite tracks all day, and even watch videos with it with the YouTube app. These are just some of the many things that you can do with the smartphone. But with all the things that you can do with it, soon enough it will give you a warning that its storage space is almost full. This is an especially dreadful message for those with the 16GB variants of the popular handset. However, there are ways wherein you can free up storage space so that you can keep snapping those photos, or downloading apps, or… you get the idea.

iPhone - How to Free Up Storage Space

Freeing Up Storage Space on Your iPhone

Step 1 – The first thing that you might want to do in order to free up space on your iPhone is to delete your text messages. There are many times wherein you would text someone, then they reply back, then you both have a conversation. The process repeats itself with many others, and before you know it, your message inbox is full of messages. These consume space in the smartphone’s storage so deleting conversations is a good first step into freeing up space.

Step 2 – You can also take advantage of the iCloud, which is Apple’s cloud storage service for iPhone users. These can also be used with other iOS devices as well. The service allows you to back up photos and videos into the company’s cloud server, wherein they will be safely kept. The beauty about this service is that you no longer have to worry about deleting them. Hence, you can still get them back if you want a good nostalgia trip about that time at the amusement park last year.

Step 3  Last but certainly not the least on this short list of ways for you to free up space on your iPhone is delete songs. If you’re an audiophile, or just have a lot of songs inside your library, just delete the ones that you no longer listen to. Another way is to just back them up with another cloud storage service, such as Google Drive or Dropbox. You can also back your audio files using Apple’s iTunes, as it is more tightly connected with the cloud more than ever.
