If you’re out on the market looking for a new phone, and are a fan of LG’s technologies, then you might be considering to purchase the LG G5 or the LG V20. Aside from their obvious difference in design, you might be wondering what is the better deal between the two devices. First of all, do take note that the V20 is the larger of the two, because quite obviously it has a larger display. However, both phones do have IPS LCD technology and QHD screen resolution, which means images appear great and viewing angles are great in just about every way. There are a lot of other similarities and differences between the two phones. Read on to help you get to the decision on which smartphone to purchase.
Comparisons Between the LG G5 and the LG V20
Let’s start with the LG G5, which is the company’s first modular phone. But before anything else, LG does deserve credit to try and become innovative in the smartphone sector, especially when there are many Android handsets on the market that are, more or less, clones of each other with just slight differences in design, build quality, hardware, and performance.
For the G5, it has a 5.3-inch IPS LCD QHD display, and it has an “always on” feature, which is a functionality designed to assist in saving battery life while you don’t have to turn off the phone’s screen. This modular phone has the best processor on the market (at the time of writing) as it has the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor that has dual cores clocked in at 1.6GHz and the other one at 2.15GHz. The processing unit is then connected to the Adreno 530 graphics processing unit. It also packs in 4GB of DDR4 RAM, as well as 32GB internal storage that is expandable to a whopping 2TB with the use of a microUSB card.
For the LG V20, is the successor to the LG V10, which was released about a year ago. It has two display, which is the primary 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2,550 x 1,440-pixels at 513-pixels-per-inch, and the other that sits atop that that is a smaller 1,040 x 160-pixel unit. This secondary display acts like the always-on feature that can be found in the G5. It comes with the same processing unit as the G5, and also packs in the same memory within. The difference is that it has a 64GB internal storage capacity which is also expandable up to 2TB with the use of a microSD card.
So which is better, the LG G5 or the LG V20? It is still a tough decision to make. For the V20, it lets you have more fun with the dual-screen technology, and it even has a nifty camera. But for the G5, you would have to consider those modules that do present more functionality for the phone. Hence, it depends on how much money you’re willing to spend as the V20 already has what you might need in the phone itself, but the G5 lets you have options that are not immediately available in the standard packaging.
