Logitech G810 Spectrum Review – For the Occasional Gamer

There are many devices that vie for the top spot in the gaming keyboard sector, and one of those competitors is the Logitech G810 Spectrum. This is one particular keyboard built for playing videogames but it is a unit without all the fuss. It has a sleek and no frills design, and it is clearly aimed for the minimalist type while directing itself for a more personalized gaming experience. In terms of features, it does share quite a few with that of the Corsair K95 RGB. These include customizable backlighting options and media controls. However, these are staples for gaming keyboards made for serious PC games. However, this particular unit from Logitech is more suited for the casual gamer instead of the serious type.

Logitech G810 Spectrum Review - For the Occasional Gamer

The Logitech G810 Spectrum Conveys a Minimalistic Approach to PC Gaming

The Logitech G810 Spectrum has a design that is unlike many other gaming keyboards on the market that’s not shy about being displayed as the fact they were meant for gaming. However, this particular unit is unlike those as it has a design that is primarily utilitarian in nature. There are no wrist-rests, no macro keys, nor snazzy asymmetrical designs here just like you would see in the various gaming peripherals by the Asus’ Republic of Gamers brand.

It comes with a measurement of 1.4 x 17.5 x 6-inches for its dimensions, and it is a comfortable size for many purposes, which of course includes gaming. However, it does weigh 2.6-pounds, which does not matter too much since you would most probably be having the device in a permanent position anyway. Plus, the extra weight does give it some heft so that it doesn’t move around much, which is useful for those intense gaming moments.

But one area where the G810 Spectrum really shines (literally) is its backlighting. Each of the keys on the keyboard is individually and centrally lit. Hence, there are not light bleeds to be found in between keys. The central lighting on the keyboard is even so consistent, that it makes it quite easy to read what the keys are supposed to do regardless of viewing angle.

The Logitech G810 Spectrum is a high-performing gaming keyboard, but it is clearly made for the more casual gamer instead of directing itself to the more serious type. If you want a keyboard built for gaming but you don’t want all those extra features, then this might be your top pick of the bunch.
