Mi Max XDA Review – It’s a Big Brick

There have been many smartphones as of late that are continuing on with the trend to sport larger displays, and the Mi Max XDA is one of them. There are handsets that would be more commonly found within the 5 to 5.7-inch range for their display size, and the majority of them are even found within the 5.5-inch mark. However, what if you want more, say even more than 6-inches? Then that would already be classified as a phablet, and this new phone from Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi.

Mi Max XDA Review - It's a Big Brick

The Mi Max XDA is Larger Than Most

The Mi Max XDA  sports a 6.44-inch display, and the first words that people would most likely utter once they are able to take a glance at the handset is “that is one big phone!” When you have such a smartphone and display it around while walking around town, you wouldn’t be surprised that you will get some glances, and even some comments about how large it is. It is very difficult for the average person to look past what they can immediately see with their eyes, but should you care to take a look at what’s powering this giant of a mobile phone, then you will be pleasantly surprised.

Tagging along the largeness of the device is a rather pleasant experience. Even though the Mi Max smartphone is unlike anything that you have seen in a mobile handset in terms of size (probably), the gadget does share some design elements that are similar to other devices coming from the tech manufacturer. There is a metallic body, as well as disguised plastic caps found on the rear and top. With such a design choice, it might even remind you of the Redmi Note 3 (sans the extremely large display).

For its size, you might immediately think that it comes with a thickness that might be too hard to grasp. However, you would be surprised to know that this smartphone is surprisingly thin as it has a thickness of only 0.3-inches. It even comes with curved rear edges to make holding the device a more comfortable experience, despite it being quite the large handset.

The Mi Max XDA comes with the MIUI 7 already installed with the package, and it comes with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system right off the bat. However, large as it may be, this may only be its redeeming factor as the performance won’t be as satisfactory. Quite literally, this is probably just a large brick that you can call and text other people with.
