Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Review – Trading Fashion for Durability

When you think about an item that’s durable and can be held with one hand quite easily, then you would probably imagine a small brick; however, if you’re going to talk about the same notion but in the lines of a smartphone, then you would be thinking about the Motorola Droid Turbo 2. Not only is it quite the durable handset, it also has top-of-the-line hardware specifications, but it has one feature that many phones of this day and age do not have – a shatterproof display. The screen has the company’s ShatterShield technology, wherein the panel is guaranteed not to crack or shatter for up to two years.

The Screen of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Has Shatterproof Technology

When you head on over to YouTube and try to search for people trying to a stress test on the screen of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 just to test the company’s claims on it, you would actually be surprised as to what lengths that firm did to make such a rugged panel. There are users that would try running the device over their cars, throwing it around the place, and even dropping it as high as 900-feet. The phone itself, and not just the screen, could even be deemed as to be near indestructible.

But all that durability certainly comes with a drawback and the shortcomings all come into one place – the design. This is, in terms of design alone, a brick with features. It is quite unappealing to look at and its simplicity is not even to be desired. When looking at the back panel of the Turbo 2, there is a similar etched designed, along with the same rubberized feel that is found on the Maxx 2.

Putting the design aside and looking at what it can do, then this particular smartphone can do more than just be thrown towards people as part of an angry fit (but seriously, don’t do that). It does come with a blazingly fast performance and even a more than decent display. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and that is mated to 3GB of RAM. This is the kind of speed in order to live up to its moniker – Turbo.

Performance-wise, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is buttery smooth. You will be able to scroll through the various app windows like a hot knife cutting through butter. Furthermore, apps open and close smoothly. Bring all that to a near-indestructible device and you got yourself a handset that is worth all the money you’ve spent on it.
