As the title says, the TYLT VÜ Pulse is for the Pebble Time, and if you have the smartwatch, then consider yourself to be lucky. This is an accessory specifically made for said watch, and it adds more features that are centered around fitness. Those who like how the Pebble Time works or chose it because you like its looks but would want more fitness-centric features out of it, then this is your chance. It is because the peripheral adds true heart rate monitoring to the watch. There’s also a custom-made companion app, and Qi Wireless Charging for the Pebble smartwatch that comes with the package.
The TYLT VÜ Pulse for Pebble Time Brings True Heart Rate Monitoring to the Watch
According to the product’s Kickstarter campaign page, the TYLT VÜ Pulse uses the principles of Photoplethysmography to bring true fitness tracking to the Pebble Time. This is the same type of green light sensing technology that can be found on other fitness-centric bands and watches. Because of this, it can bring about a more accurate heart measurement, and in real time. Technocel, the company that created the accessory, states in the product’s crowdfunding page that the data gathered by the peripheral is filtered with its algorithm, extraneous data, and the “noise” that are being blocked out to bring better results. The firm even went as far as to compare the device to top selling fitness bands on the market.
What the TYLT VÜ Pulse for Pebble Time can do is that it can track your heart rate over a designated period of time. While it is in passive mode, the heart rate will be measured every 30-minutes to provide baseline measurements throughout the day. Hence, it is able to conserve battery life.
But when workout time begins, enter the accessory into active mode and it will read heart rates every 10-seconds. This will give you a true measurement of your workout activity so you can gauge how intense your exercise session can be.
As mentioned earlier, the TYLT VÜ Pulse also brings about Qi Wireless Charging for your Pebble Time. Hence, you no longer need to go about the hassle of plugging in your smartwatch just to charge it. According to the item’s Kickstarter crowdfunding page, the delivery for the product to be delivered to financial backers has already started back in August of this year.
